Dear Friend,

As I sent my 7 year old daughter to 2nd grade, I am thankful that here in Minnesota, we have some of the hardest working teachers in America. I know because I have taught alongside them for a decade.

I also know that in 2008, it is getting harder for our teachers to do their job. From the No Child Left Behind bureaucracy to an economy that hits our teachers and students hard, America’s teachers are facing tough circumstances as they try to educate and develop this country’s most precious resource: our children. Our teachers do not ask for salaries like CEOs, and they do not ask for much glory either. They only ask for the tools they need to prepare our children for this modern, global economy.

I want to change Washington to make sure that our teachers can do their job. Teachers for Walz is launching today because teachers across southern Minnesota know that I will be an advocate for them and for our students in Washington, D.C. I am proud to stand with them and I ask you to stand with me as we work to change Washington!

Thank you for your support. This campaign is successful because of concerned citizens like you, and together we will bring change to Washington.

Sincerely,

Tim Walz
